Whenever I think of the Bahamas, I imagine a far away fancy place that I will never see. Boy, was I wrong. When you live on the East Coast, people go to the Bahamas all the time. It's like the East Coast's Hawaii (but even closer - took me 2.5 hours to fly there from JFK 😱).
My dad had a conference in Nassau, so naturally my whole family decided to tag along. They had been once before while I was at UW, but back then it was simply too much travel for the amount of time I would be able to be there. Needless to say, I was stoked to get to go this time. (Sidebar: I believe it was their last Bahamas trip that was being referenced when one of my brothers said, "Courtney, you're gone. You're not part of the family now." ooooh man hahah gotta love having little brothers to keep ya humble.)
I arrived the night before my family, so I had an entire evening to spend alone in the Bahamas. I napped on the beach (for an hour!!), got settled in the hotel room, attempted to explore the resort, decided the resort had too many confusing paths to navigate in the dark and I could see it in the morning, returned to my room, watched TV, and went to bed.
The resort we stayed at was basically a big fun water park. We spent the whole time on the slides and in the water and therefore took no pictures to document the fun time we had (have no fear...I took a couple #basic photos for you on my day alone. Yayy.) Highlights: seeing my family, seeing the sun.
