First lax scrimmage today!  We won!!  It was windy and snowy and freezing, but we had fun and did pretty good (especially for us who had never played a game before!)

Christopher, Nicholas, and I took the opportunity of a beautiful day to bike/scooter down to the elementary school to play and practice lacrosse.

The cousins came over today to watch the Oscars.  Simone loved having me push her on the tire swing.

(Very easy when you're in the mood for a good snack.  Pour Chex, melted butter, and spices of your liking (onion and garlic powder are usually pretty good!)  Then shake it all up and voila...Chex Mix!)

Ruby and I are both reading the Harry Potter books.  ABC Family was having a Harry Potter weekend.  It was just too perfect.  We watched Harry Potter on TV then during the commercials we read Harry Potter.  I am obsessed!

Happy Valentine's Day!

My mom is so sweet.  We woke up today and each had a little note from her and a gift.  We ate a pink breakfast (raspberry scones...yum:) ) and she packed us a red lunch.  Then when we came home and on the counter she had left us cookies and a note that said, "Chocolate milk in the fridge."  So perfect!

I <3 lax practice.

Doughnuts after practice?  Every time someone kisses someone new it is the team "rule" to bring doughnuts for everyone!

Day 346

A trip to the ER today...

My dad was walking into church, slipped on some ice, and caught himself on the side of his hand.  See the bottom of his pinky finger (near his wrist)?  Notice how the bone is bent 90˚ while the rest of his fingers are straight there?  Ya, it's not supposed to be like that.  He'll probably be getting surgery sometime this week to get a pin in there and set the bone straight, but luckily it's not a complicated break and won't be hard to fix!  I think the worst part about it for him was seeing all the snow we were getting today (9 new inches!!) and knowing that he couldn't ski for the rest of the season.

Babysat and took Nicholas, his friend Luke, and Marty to dinner.

I think Luke deserves the quote of the night.  "I'm not gonna go on a hot date.  I'm not going to get married.  I'm going to live in Mississippi and be a brain surgeon and be a billionaire."

Day 344

Today was super busy, but so much fun!  All the class senators were excused from school and tied notes to roses and delivered them to students all day.  (During the week people could buy roses to be delivered to someone.)  I had fun hanging out with all the senators and getting to know them better!  Right after school we all decorated for the Valentine's dance that was tonight.  I could only stay for about an hour though, because then I had to go to lacrosse.

Lacrosse was fun, but I had to leave early from that as well.  I got home, hurried and showered and changed and then people started arriving at my house for the dance!  Sweethearts dance at our school is a t-shirt dance.  Each group designs and makes t-shirts that they wear to the dance!  Ours said "I <3 ?" on the front and had cheesy pick-up lines on the back.  We ate delicious pizza at my house for dinner, went to the basketball game, got slurpees, went to the dance, and then went late-night bowling!  Our group was so funny and we all had such a fun time together!

I started playing lacrosse last week!  There are about 15 of us "newbies," as we all call ourselves, who have never played before and don't even really know how the game is played.  However, we have awesome coaches, a really fun team, and are learning quickly.  I am loving it!!

I was answered to Valentine's Dance tonight!  I opened the door, looked down and noticed the pink note.  I picked it up, read it, then suddenly a hot dog landed in the planter right next to me.  More just kept coming until I saw the boy I asked and his friend run away.  How clever - flying pigs!
