Mt. Pilchuck

Camping in Washington is beautiful.
Hiking in Washington is beautiful.
Conversations with my friends is.... beautifully entertaining: debating Tom Hardy's attractiveness vs. averageness and Oatmeal Squares' deliciousness vs. averageness.  The debate still lives on.

"Trevor, what are you doing?"
"The Hover Hand!"
"Stop...that's weird."
"That's what makes it so funny!"
Ahhhh Trev, we love you...what would we do without your random hilariousness?

Not sure if you can see it...but a classic Courtney expression.  And an incredible view.

Shenanigans cont.

I've kind of been going through a mid-summer crisis where I have been thinking a lot about what I am going to do with my life in the next year and what I want to do with my future... During this time I have discovered my love for Gasworks Park where I have come many times to sit and ponder while looking at the city (#pensivecourt).  During this time I have also discovered that I enjoy reading for pleasure.  Please be proud, Mom :)

Also, I found this tweet hilariously accurate.

Aaaand more curtains and cooking at The Bat House.  It's great.

Spontaneous Surprise

Guess what?  Tessa is back from her mission!!!  I wasn't planning on going home for her homecoming because just a few weeks later I would be home for Carly's wedding.  But one night I was talking to her on the phone.  When I hung up, I knew I just couldn't miss her homecoming.  I wanted to be able to spend time and focus on her and at Carly's wedding spend time and focus on Carly.  As I was about to fall asleep I texted my mom something along the lines of "I know it's ridiculous to want to buy a last minute ticket home for Tessa's homecoming and I just need you to talk me out of it and tell me it doesn't make any sense."  Well the next morning I woke up and she basically told me I wasn't being ridiculous at all and it's these important life experiences that are worth spending money on.  Ah isn't my mom the best?  I'm so glad she said that because I really did want to go home and get to see Tessa, but I needed some affirmation.  So we bought tickets and I texted Shlyn and told her the surprise and to organize a dinner with all the girls.  And Shlyn was perfect.  They all were sitting down at Brio and she was giving me play by play text updates letting me know when I should come in and where they were, etc. etc.  Oh it was just the happiest of surprises <3 <3 <3  I love my friends.  FINALLY after THREE years we had everyone back together again for a weekend!!  It was perfect, so extremely perfect.

Shenanigans

Let's be honest...they would be helpless without me.  I hang the curtains and they cook me food.  It's a good deal.

Probably one of the most awkward yet most hilarious things I can say I have ever done is go on a blind date for British TV.  And one of the best parts of the story is that Callen and Tina inconspicuously followed me around and photographed the entire thing.  Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to post any photos of my date and I until the show airs, but just know that it was great.

I don't know why we took this Snapchat or what the context was, but I think it's utter nonsense is hilarious, so here ya go.

Danielle + James

Ah literally the perfect couple just got married and I am so happy for them.  Danielle has been a best friend since day 1 at UW and as soon as James came around he has been just as amazing!  Now they are married.  And it was great.  Danielle's was the first wedding I've been to where I've actually been really close to the bride, which entailed being able to help set up, take pictures, make sure the sparklers were handed out (a very important job haha), and just make sure Danielle's day was perfect.  Ah after the wedding they are moving to Provo for James to finish up school and I sure do miss Danielle here.  But she and James are having fun and happy and so I am happy for them (even though selfishly I wish they lived up in Seattle so I could see them!).

Congrats Danielle and James!
{excuse the poor quality photos...I stole them off of Facebook.  photo cred to whoever their awesome photographer was}

I caught the bouquet ;D

Pagosa

Here is why I love Pagosa: because no matter where I am in life, no matter where I live or who I'm friends with or what I'm doing or how much things have changed or seemed to change, Pagosa is always the same.  Each year we go back to the same beautiful place and we hike the same hikes and drive the same jeep and fish in the same river and play the same games and eat the same meals and I wouldn't have it any other way.  We do the same thing every year because we love it so much.  I really don't think there is a place more peaceful and more beautiful than Pagosa Springs, Colorado and I hope it never changes.
